Jonathan Cooper has established an international reputation composing music for theatre and television. In addition, his CDs 'A Cabinet of Curiosities', 'Anon', 'SLEEP' and 'The Moon behind the clouds' have all been broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
Beginning his career as a performer, Jonathan was principal clarinet of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain before studying music at St. Catherines College, Oxford and subsequently the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Jonathan performs as a Music Director for both The National Theatre and The David Glass Ensemble and in addition to keyboards and clarinet plays many ethnic instruments including the Vietnamese dan bau, the Chinese ba-wu and the Cambodian flute.
