Alex Baranowski

Alex Baranowski is a composer and alumni of Sir Paul McCartney's LIPA. His collaboration with Mercury winning band The xx was performed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra along with the band, and broadcast live on BBC Radio 1and the BBC's red button.

Feature films include the twice BAFTA nominated McCullin released by Artificial Eye in 2013 produced by the British Film Company, Rankin Film and James Gay-Rees (Senna).

Collaborations include working with electro duo Underworld, and Danny Boyle as music associate for Frankenstein at the National Theatre (nominated for best sound design at the 2012 Olivier awards); he has also collaborated with multi Klassik winning violinist Daniel Hope and Joy Division’s Peter Hook.

Alex’s work in theatre also includes Hamlet and Earthquakes in London at the National, as well as productions in the West End, Royal Court, Donmar, RSC, Sheffield Crucible, Old Vic Tunnels and the Royal Opera House… recently including Macbeth with James McAvoy and forthcoming The Cripple of Inishmaan with Daniel Radcliffe.
